Hi! I’m Bronwyn, welcome to my blog.
I have always been interested in sewing and crafts, learning to sew at the age of six, and starting my first (never completed) patchwork quilt at the age of seventeen.
On moving to Melbourne in 1994 I joined the craft group at my daughters’ school. It was here I met the friends who re-introduced me to patchwork and soon after I was hooked!
In 2003 I took an opportunity that arose to work part-time at my local patchwork shop and began teaching. Since then, I have taught everything from beginner’s machine and hand piecing to machine quilting and machine applique. I began entering quilt shows in 2005, winning prizes with several of my quilts, and in 2007 ‘Love Amongst the Briars’ was juried into the American Quilters Society Annual Quilt Show at Paducah.
In 2005 I opened a small home-based patchwork business, making quilts for others and writing patterns. Since 2008 I have concentrated predominantly on turning the business into a patchwork-piecing service, with the aim of helping people to turn their ideas into reality.
These days I also work part-time in the patchwork supply industry and so have experienced the patchwork world from almost all possible perspectives!
I am constantly thinking up new ideas, but also frequently end up making many version of a pattern in different styles. With the abundance of pre-cut fabrics available these days I have been working on a number of simple but effective ways to use them to produce quick but pleasing quilts.
I primarily work in a traditionally-pieced style, with some applique work.
